Talent Acquisition

So much is being talked about Talent...that there is a war going on and it is the most difficult thing to find, retain and renew. All that talk is true but guess what?

Despite all the talk and not to mention the money spent by organizations, the biggest culprits in this game are the leaders and managers of these very organizations.

Take the case of a few of India's leading software services company or some of the multinationals who parade as global companies. They take more than three months (in a good scenario) to coordinate and make a decision on a candidate for a senior leadership / management position in their organizations. The reason for the delay has got nothing to do with the thoroughness of the talent acquisition process; rather it has got to do with the availability, commitment and preparedness of these so called leaders and managers. And how do they acquire talent - by what their intellect perceives to be the right choice of the candidate; not what the organization has arrived at as a quality of measure. The very weak excuse they give to candidates they don't see as a fit is "culture fit". What they are saying is that "you don't fit into our old sccoolboys club".

How many of you have a different experience?

Pursuing Excellence

This blogspot is titled Cultural Transformation because it is my life mission. I am an evangelist for transformation because that is the personification of "Truth" and therefore a signal of "Growth". We cannot and should not imagine life without "Growth". Transformation is a continuous process and demands discipline (not drill) and dedication (not monotony) that comes from a "sense of excellence". Senses are the five senses - Sight, Sound, Smell, Touch and Taste when sharpened respond to the stimuli of excellence - being inspired by what we sense and percieve to produce action and results that benefit society at large. Such actions and results in turn produces growth in society, organizations and individuals. Fundamental to Transformation therefore are Intent and Thinking that greately influence the outcomes of Thought & Action.
